Walk Fast, Walk Far.

I have been using walking as my primary means of pesonal exercise. Over the years, walking has helped me improve my overall health. My home town of Battle Ground Washington offers a fantastic mix of rural country and developed city. This allows for many contiguous miles of sidewalks and paths for walking!

Stating out, I walked about four miles once a week. This gradually increased to an 8 mile route done daily with a 14 mile route on the weekends!

Why not run? Personally, I cannot because of a very particular old injury. This has made fast walking my thing.

Why Walk Fast? I try to keep my heart rate up when exercising. Over time, I need to walk faster and faster to keep up the same target heart rate.

What do you do to pass the time? Walking long distances , even fast walking long distances takes time. To help pass the time: Podcasts, Audio Books, Pokémon Go, and "Urban beach combing".
